We build in small teams and hire the same way.
Three to five people to a project, and the ones who scope it are the ones who build it. We have no open positions right now, but you can still write to us.
What working here is actually like.
Four things that are true here and are not true everywhere.
Three to five people, and no one is spare.
You are in the scoping meeting, in the schema and in the deploy. There is no layer of the project someone else is quietly holding for you.
What you write is used by people who cannot work around it.
Eleven thousand university records, 4,200 badges on doors, and a school bus a parent is watching on a phone. When it is down, they wait.
No agency churn. You stay on the thing you built.
Every system we have shipped is still ours to keep running, usually by the people who wrote it. Maintenance is part of the job here, not the thing that happens to somebody else.
The code you write is still running in year three.
Turnover is low and the client keeps the source, so the question about a decision you made in year one comes back to you in year three, and you will still recognize the file.
How we hire when a position opens
A reply in one day
A person reads the application, not a filter. If it is a no, you get the no, and you get it just as fast.
A call, thirty minutes
What you have built, what you want to build next, and what the job would pay. No panel and nothing to prepare.
Code, an hour
We read something you have already written, or we write a small thing together. Nothing timed, no puzzle.
Half a day with us
You meet the people you would work with and open a real system, not a slide about one. Paid. Detail to confirm.
An offer, in writing
Salary, scope and a start date on one page, and two weeks to think about it. Detail to confirm.
No open positions.
We open a position when a project needs one, and right now none does. If you build the sort of thing on this site, write anyway. Tell us what you have shipped and what you want to work on next, and we will tell you honestly whether there is anything coming.
We keep an open application on file for six months. Detail to confirm.
Four fields.
No account, no portal, and no cover letter unless you want to write one.
Tell us what you need built.
We reply within one business day, and the first call is a scoping conversation, not a sales pitch.
